A good hairstylist is a blessing from the heavens. Whether it is a
simple trim, a bold hair cut, a good hairdo for the special night out or
you suddenly get the craving to change your look by going for
highlights, low lights or a single different color…you take a leap of
faith, go to a stylist and keep your fingers crossed while your heart
beats in silent prayer.

Yeap, been there, done that…though I have to say, I have still got to
get the heart shattering palpitations when I go for hair dye. To salvage
this prospect, on February 12, 2015 Wella Academy has been launched in
Karachi by Abu Dawood Pakistan’s (ADP) Wella Professional Division.

Wella Academy aims to form a closed-knit network of hairdressers where
they have a platform to learn from one another, exchange ideas and share
experiences. It will also give them an opportunity to learn from the
best of the field during seminars and workshops so that they can be
trained to use Wella Professionals range.
Wella Academy was inaugurated by German Consul General in Pakistan, Dr.
Tilo Klinner. His speech was followed by a fashion presentation where
models had been styled by Raana Khan and the attire was designed by
Sadaf Malaterre.

While the academy oozed taste and style, the launch still lacked a
touch of creativity that we could have used, what with the models
adorned in
gold with none too exciting hair colors. We have seen better and
groovier hair
colors and hair styles by other brands at several events. Having said
that, the Academy is a much-needed step in direction of training the
hair stylists.

Speaking about Wella adding value Nael Ahmed- Country Manager AbuDawood Pakistan said,“Salon industry in Pakistan has a lot of
potential. The services provided by our salons can be easily compared to the
International standards. But the market is not fully developed and this is
where we want to make a difference and add value by working closely with the
hair dressers’ community in introducing latest trends in hair coloring and
styling
Naushin Shahid- Business Unit Head Wella Professionals
Emphasizing on education, Naushin Shahid, Business Unit Head Wella Professionals explained, “Our goal is to be the No.1 salon professional partner that provides relevant
and inspirational education that can help improve the lives of our salon
partners and their clients.

Hair colors make women feel edgy. After all,
as the saying goes, the most important thing a woman can have, besides her
talent of course, is her hair stylist. Hope to see Wella bringing some magic in the hair market.
