Brunch at Mercato Restaurant – Dubai.
The United Arab Emirates has been gradually gaining a very good reputation as a mainstay of Italian food innovation. I have been dining in many of Dubai’s Italian restaurants since so many years now and undoubtedly I say that Mercato was quite an experience. For all those, looking for a satisfying experience of Italian food like no other, Mercato, for sure comes in the first place.
A magnificent interior welcomes you as you enter the restaurant, that is a beautiful amalgamation of modern and antique luxuries. Whether sitting on any table of your choice, you will get the a tremendous view of their workshop like kitchen, and the chefs working. The whole restaurant’s theme is extremely colorful with all the ingredients, that they use in their kitchen, displayed on the shelves. This kind of decoration completely adds an extra shine to the food they offer, though the interiors of the restaurant is not the only thing to attract customers. Therefore, Mercato fizzled with high energy and was loaded with clearly satisfied patrons.
We were invited to have a scrumptious brunch at the restaurant, thus the menu of the family breakfast deal offered a huge variety of starters that were very mouth-watering. We started with Mercato’s very famous freshly baked Italian breads. I was served with the Bombolone bread that was accompanied by butter and honey, while my friend was served with the very delicious Sfoglia Albicocca, puff pastry that comes along with the heavenly apricot jam. Both the breads were impeccable. The fresh apple and orange juice were served with the starters, which was very refreshing.
For the main course, both my friend and I ordered the same fashion for the eggs, that was scrambled eggs served with roasted cherry tomatoes and a large brown Portobello mushroom. In the same deal, they also offered Antipasto Italiano, that was a combination of Italian cheese and cold cuts with Truffle Bruschetta Artichokes. Pickled vegetables and olives were served as a sideline of this course.
The flavour of the eggs along with the mushroom perfectly balanced the richness of the meal. On the other hand, the Antipasto Italiano was equally a complete delight maintaining the taste of the vegetables, cheese, cold cuts and the olives. The main course was followed with a hot beverage in the end that was Mocha coffee served in a beautiful Moka pot, called Macchinetta and the rich hot chocolate. The gratifying Italian pancakes served in the end, were a cherry on the top.
In the end I would like to say, that the food prices are not expensive at all and just perfect, keeping in mind that the restaurant’s location is in the exclusive Dubai International Financial Center. Last but not the least, the staff too was commendable as they were all so attentive, making sure that every client was served with the food on time and as per their requests. “For the love of food” is the restaurant’s slogan and I absolutely agree as it is one of the best places where one can sit back and eat appetizing and delicious food that will keep attracting you back for more!
