“You know what? Leave this work to men. Go and do the petty tasks which have been hogging the office for days.” “Hey, hey, hey! Do not make futile attempts to complete that assignment. That work is for men only and I cannot waste my time on a helpless girl trying to do males’ work!”
Tell me, truthfully, how many times have we heard these statements during our jobs? I think all of us have lost the count after thousand. We have been compared to men as “weak, incompetent creatures” so many times that we, unfortunately, have started believing in this myth. I, however, whole-heartedly disagree with the fact that women are powerless or incapable of doing the hard work. We give birth to a new life, face the extremes of pain and come out alive and stronger. Why is that so? If we really are weak, why were we appointed with the most difficult tasks of life?
