3 kids, all with distinct likes and dislikes. Sounds challenging, right? Well that’s motherhood for you. I guess the trickiest part of any mother’s life is how to make her running-at-the-mere-sight-of-broccoli children eat healthy foods. Milk, however, is the most neglected protein.
“But, why do I have to drink milk? It tastes so boring!” This sentence is familiar to all the mothers. Well, instead of just forcing your kids to drink milk, why not come up with some creative ideas? Children should look forward to drinking milk instead of calling it boring. Find out what they love to eat or drink and see if adding milk doesn’t make them ask for more. I always have some great tricks up my sleeves which I use to sneak milk into my children’s diet.
First of all, while there are various flavors available in the market like chocolate, strawberry, caramel, vanilla, it is best if you go for natural flavors which are healthier. These may include cardamom milk, nutmeg milk, mint flavored milk, honey milk, and turmeric milk.
Second of all, MILKSHAKES! Whether healthier ones like banana and strawberry or less healthier ones like chocolate, they are the best way to make your kids love milk! Milkshakes are loaded with protein and if you add carbohydrates in it, they become a rich source of energy. Your vitamin intake goes right up the roof along with your dietary fibers which actually helps in better digestion and detoxification. Cherry on top, you can surreptitiously blend in oats with the shakes to make them even more wholesome.
Third of all, sweet porridge: it can never be denied by sweet-toothed children, especially if topped with strawberry/bananas/nuts!
Fourth of all, Nutella and milk Popsicle, they definitely take the golden ticket to children’s hearts. Not only are they delightful for your children’s taste buds, they are also an excellent method to ward off the scorching heat this summer and have a cool and a refreshing day.
Last, but not the least, milk is at its finest when blended with a few ice cubes and some berries. Your ice cream will be ready in a jiffy!
