Peek Freans RIO Carnival promotes edutainment
Karachi, April 25, 2015: Peek Freans RIO,
Pakistan’s leading cream biscuit brand organized a fun carnival for children at
a local amusement park, which sought to promote learning with entertainment among
children. Held as a celebration for the winners of a recent competition that
the Brand had held, the event included several activities which encouraged the
participating children and their parents to have fun while exercising their
physical and cognitive skills and building group interaction.
Well-known and popular artist Khalid Malik conducted the main part
of the event and regaled the young audience with his stories, songs, humour and
quick quizzes, all with a high level of interactivity. Upon arrival the
children were greeted by a Tall Man and entertained by jugglers, while a
face-painting stand also drew a rush. In between the various activities,
sessions were held to give away the prizes to the competition winners. At the
end the audience was treated to a magic show and refreshments, following which
the children were given tickets to enjoy various rides at the amusement park.
Speaking on the occasion, Zulfiqar Ali Ansari, Head of Marketing at
English Biscuit Manufacturers (Pvt.) Ltd. (EBM), the makers of Peek Freans RIO,
stated, “When you think of Peek Freans RIO, you think of the fun-filled and
flavourful experience it provides, especially for
children, as they are the main target consumers of this product. We at EBM
strongly believe that an essential part of growing up is to have an active
lifestyle, and our event is aimed to bring home this message in a fun way.”
The competition run earlier by the brand required people to text unique codes printed on Peek Freans RIO packs
to a designated number, followed by sharing their details. The audience was
engaged throughout the length of the activity with interactive activities such
as playing quizzes, sharing jokes, stories, etc. The campaign resulted in really
successful engagement and more than 400,000 entries were generated. Over one
hundred winners were then selected through a carefully fashioned metric
ensuring a fair distribution of prizes. Prizes such as X-boxes,
play stations, bicycles, toys, stationery sets and branded gift hampers were

My week started with  Kayseria launch event & today I am going to share some highlights from the event. After making its
successful debut at PFDC Sunsilk Fashion Week, Kayseria, Pakistan’s
pioneering designer textile brand launched new collection of its Pret a
Porter line, “Kayseria Pret” and it was well worth the wait. The new
Kayseria Pret a Porter collection offers the season’s most fashionable
styles, colors and cuts, truly making it a trend-setters paradise. I arrived on time for the very first time in my life. After Iftar (which was a total chaos ) Fashion Presentation began which showcased three categories:
In Kontemporary line we saw some hand printed chiffon and cotton fabrics, neon and florescent colored trendy kurties.

Kontemporary collection by Kayseria

Riwayat which is inspired by Mughal monuments. we saw some dusky hues, flowery fabrics with embroidery and embellishments.

In Virasat we saw a touch of folk tradition. This line represented our culture & Truck Art with ethno motives and tribal beat.

There is one thing , a Blazer I saw at the launch and I fell in love with it immediately. Waleed Zaman has immaculate sense of fashion and he made quiet a statement with the look he was rocking. Waleed Zaman, the Creative Director of Kayseria, explained how it was made to me and a fellow blogger (Yildrim). Truck Art inspired blazer made with cotton net and the colored lining was given inside to make the colors pop. He was so generous that he even offered Me & Yildrim a Blazer too. Thank You So much Waleed Zaman ( if you are reading this) I want you to produce such blazers on large scale.

Hello My Precious Readers!

I believe you have been well, I had an awesome Kick start of my week with a Bloggers Meet up Organized by Maybelline New York. I was invited to spend a fun filled afternoon with Maybeline where Maybelline relaunched their Colored SHOW range with additional 6 NEON Shads.
I reached half hour late (traffic) Naimal from Peachy Pout and Maliha from The curious Red Alice were already there. When we entered the room I was pretty much relaxed the ambience was really good all the Nail Colors were Nicely placed on table. We took a lot of pictures, talked about make up, and waited for other bloggers. Sidra from Beauteous blog and Rabyeeah from Rabyeah’s Blog came a little late and the Show finally started.

Maybelline representative Wafa did a little introduction of the Brand and Color Show Range, after that we took some Nail Painting Lessons. Maybelline invited a Nail Expert to show us some tips and tricks of Nail painting/Art step by step (I will do a separate post on that) . It was a great opportunity for all of us to learn something new. They also showed us Nail tutorials on Big screen after that a fun task was given to all of us to create Nail Art. We were free to pick any shade we like I picked pink shock. You can see in the pictures how engrossed we all were in painting our nails.

Launch of Zebai Elite collection in Karachi!

Hello dear readers how have you been?  This is Nida Moughal reporting from Glitter Smitter. The lawn fever is at its peak in Karachi and you realize it when you see no other boards except Lawn everywhere. yesterday I attended another lawn exhibition  named “Zabai”  Elite lawn collection by Mehmood Textiles. Zebai in Urdu means beauty, but in Persian, it means Wearing Cloth.  The designer
behind this lawn is  Mahwish Haq and the man behind styling is well known
Yousuf Bashir Qureshi (YBQ). When I heard that collection was styled by YBQ I
knew I had to pay a visit.

To be honest with you guys, I was so impressed/ surprised with the quality of the fabric that I am compelled to write this post. The collection was inspired from the artistic pillars of Egyptian Sinai plans, to the aesthetic monuments of Ceaser’s Rome, from  the Islamic Calligraphy of Harun Rashid’s Baghdad to the mind soothing flowery orchards of Thi folklore. In short it was a harmonious blend of various inspirations and motifs from different parts of the world.

There were total of 17 designs (13 in furl suits form and 4 in solos) and the best part ( I believe its the best part) designs did not have any kind of animal printed on them. It kills me if I find an animal printed on my dresses, its not that I don’t like it but the fact that it becomes a hurdle for me to perform Namaz wearing it.  Last year I purchased a wonderful lawn joora from Gul Ahmed, when I came home and examined the print in detail I realized that butterflies were printed on it. I took back the joora for exchange and after very unpleasant conversation with the sales guy and manager they exchanged the bloody joora.
Coming back to Zebai Prints I loved the fact that there were no animals on it. The fabric no doubt was of finest quality. You can shop the collection from here.

Here have a look at some of the pictures from last night.

Zebai Elite Lawn collection

Ok guys this one is my favorite one simple and summer-y.

I got three dresses from this exhibition the dresses comes in a DIY kit form. I will soon make a haul post. Please guys if you are in Karachi suggest me a very good tailor. I am sick and tired of tailors ruining my expensive jooras.
