The Lawn Diaries

OK guys Crazy Lawn season is finally here and it seems everyone and their mother and their cat is coming out with their own brand of lawn. Lawn designs & suits should be as simple as possible in my OPINION. Complicated, complex and bulky designs always put me off. Now a days a simple lawn suit comes like a jigsaw puzzle with 7 different kind of frills, laces and pieces to attach to get a complete suit.  I don’t know about you but my tailor never gets it right and mostly ruin my dresses ( I have tried a few) . If you have a good tailor you are lucky else a 6K joora goes to waste.  I have absolutely no issues with simple, delicate prints of lawn & this year I have seen some very good lawn prints so I have complied some images from designers 2014 lawn collections.
Seems like Sana Safinas got it perfectly right this year as I absolutely adore almost all of their lawn prints and embroideries. Beautiful designs, simple prints, perfect color selection for summers. What else one need? Have a look at some of my Favorites.

  Sobia Nazir Lawn 2014
Sobia Nazir has come up with some very good and simple prints. These suits comes with the killing price tag of  PKR 5950 which in my opinion is too much for a lawn dress. Anyways here have a look at some of my favorites.

Tell me guys about your most expensive lawn jora and your favorite lawn.

Kayseria Spring Summer Basant collection
Oh hello my dear readers do you feel it??  I sure can..
The Crazy Lawn season is almost here and everyone seems like everyone is coming out with their own either COPIED or ORIGINAL lawn prints. I love wearing lawn its the only thing I can bear in Karachi’s deadly summers. There are some brands I am really looking forward this season such as Khaadi, Deepak and GUL Ahmed.  Here are the details of some of my favorite recently launched lawns.
 Kamal Lawn by Zara Shahjahan
Shahjahan recently introduce a collection inspired by Sub Continental,
specifically Indian patterns and motifs. The brand also introduced
coveted award winning model, Neha Ahmed as the face of Kamal Lawn by
Zara Shahjahan this season.

Kayseria recently introduced their latest collection for Spring/Summer 2014 available under three distinct themes; ‘A Color Riot’ inspired by Basant,
‘Victorian Romance’ inspired by the Victorian Era, and
‘Letters of Love’ inspired by stamps.

Tell me guys do you also go crazy over lawn, your favorite lawn brand?

Launch of Zebai Elite collection in Karachi!

Hello dear readers how have you been?  This is Nida Moughal reporting from Glitter Smitter. The lawn fever is at its peak in Karachi and you realize it when you see no other boards except Lawn everywhere. yesterday I attended another lawn exhibition  named “Zabai”  Elite lawn collection by Mehmood Textiles. Zebai in Urdu means beauty, but in Persian, it means Wearing Cloth.  The designer
behind this lawn is  Mahwish Haq and the man behind styling is well known
Yousuf Bashir Qureshi (YBQ). When I heard that collection was styled by YBQ I
knew I had to pay a visit.

To be honest with you guys, I was so impressed/ surprised with the quality of the fabric that I am compelled to write this post. The collection was inspired from the artistic pillars of Egyptian Sinai plans, to the aesthetic monuments of Ceaser’s Rome, from  the Islamic Calligraphy of Harun Rashid’s Baghdad to the mind soothing flowery orchards of Thi folklore. In short it was a harmonious blend of various inspirations and motifs from different parts of the world.

There were total of 17 designs (13 in furl suits form and 4 in solos) and the best part ( I believe its the best part) designs did not have any kind of animal printed on them. It kills me if I find an animal printed on my dresses, its not that I don’t like it but the fact that it becomes a hurdle for me to perform Namaz wearing it.  Last year I purchased a wonderful lawn joora from Gul Ahmed, when I came home and examined the print in detail I realized that butterflies were printed on it. I took back the joora for exchange and after very unpleasant conversation with the sales guy and manager they exchanged the bloody joora.
Coming back to Zebai Prints I loved the fact that there were no animals on it. The fabric no doubt was of finest quality. You can shop the collection from here.

Here have a look at some of the pictures from last night.
